REGISTRATION:

All participants must check in at the SCGA registration tent located near the cart staging area upon arrival Tuesday morning. Registration will be available at 6:30 a.m.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the championship.  Starting times (on both days) will range from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 9:30 a.m.

 

Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive in time to watch the group in front of them tee off.   

 

FORMAT:

All players will participate in a 36-hole Stroke Play Championship (18 holes each day). 

   

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

Players may make arrangements for practice rounds at their own expense. Please identify yourself as a participant in the SCGA Super Senior Championship. Call the Ojai Valley Inn reservation center at (805) 646-5511 to make a reservation.

Green Fees: $79 including cart & range.

 

TEES AND YARDAGE:   

Play will be from the SCGA tee markers. Mixed yardages will be used. See the yardages tab for Hole by Hole yardages.  Course Rating: 70.2 / Slope 129 /Approx. 6,119 yards / Par: 70.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

The driving range will open at 6:30 a.m. on each day of the Championship. Range balls will be provided on the range compliments of Ojai Valley Inn and the SCGA.  

 

FOOD SERVICE AND PURCHASES:

Players will be on their own for breakfast, lunch as well as any other miscellaneous food and beverage purchases.  Breakfast will be available at the Oak Kitchen at 6:30a.m. Libbey’s Market will open at 6:30am for “food to go”. Jimmy’s Pub will open at 11:00am and will be open until the conclusion of play. The Spa Café with the Juice Bar will be open from 12:00-4:00. Cash and major credit card will be accepted for all purchases.

 

RULES OF PLAY:

  • The Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA and The R&A govern play;

AUTOMOTIVE TRANSPORTATION / PULL CARTS & PUSH CARTS:

Carts are included in the entry fee. There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).  Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts.  Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk. Pull carts and push carts are allowed.

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

Players may provide their own caddie (See section on Automotive Transportation). Caddies must adhere to the dress code listed in section below. Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.

 

DRESS CODE:

Players and caddies must be properly attired in golf shirts, slacks, Bermuda-length dress or golf shorts and soft spike shoes. Jeans (any color or any kind), T-shirts and tank tops will not be permitted. Shirts must be tucked in and hats are to be worn forward at all times. 

 

CANCELLATIONS:

To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of an SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Rules and Competitions Department at (818) 980-3630, or by clicking here. If a player needs to withdraw on the morning of the event, notify the SCGA staff person through the golf shop staff at the host venue. Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions. Requests for refunds prior to the entry closing date will be honored less a $20 administrative fee. Requests received after the entry closing date and 48 hours prior to the event will be honored less 50% of the entry fee. No refunds will be honored within 48 hours of the event.
